1.2            ANNOUNCEMENT

Coordinate type of opening with information in Instructions to Bidders.

A.        All qualified bidders are invited to submit a Bid under sealed envelope to the City of Talladega for the replacement of all existing pumps, controls, valves, with new valves, minimal new piping and painting of all new and existing piping and all necessary appurtenances. Owner will receive Bids at the Council Chambers, located at 255 South Street West, Talladega, Alabama 35160, until 2:00 P.M. local standard time on the 2^nd day of April, 2020 at which time and place the Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Bids not received by the indicated time will not be opened.

Briefly describe building, structure or Project size and material composition. Following examples describe scope of Contract to potential Bidders:

Two new primary clarifiers, furnished and installed complete with supports, electric drive units, sludge and scum collectors, effluent collectors, sludge pumps, mechanical equipment, electrical work, and appurtenances, ready for operation.

Two-level parking concrete substructure, one street-level exterior accessed public plaza, six-story cast-in-place concrete superstructure with glazed wall cladding, one steel-framed metal-clad penthouse, 85,000 sq. ft. (7 900 sq. m) of gross area above grade, and 40 parking stalls below grade.

B.        All Contract Documents may be obtained in electronic format only from the Engineer via the Online Plan Library at www.insiteengineering.org.  Addenda and other bidding information will be issued only to holders of drawings and specifications distributed by theEngineer.

Consider including following Paragraph if a Prebid Meeting will be held.

C.        A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 A.M. local standard time on the 26^th day of March 2020 at the Council Chambers, located at 255 South Street West, Talladega, Alabama 35160. Each bidder will be able to view the construction area immediately after the Pre-Bid meeting.
